Design Process
What to Expect When Expecting a Kitchen
As kitchen designers and project managers, we have over 30 steps to take before your kitchen is complete. However, don’t fret. Most of these things are done behind the scenes. By now, you may have looked at cabinets, countertops, appliances, flooring, backsplash tiles, paint color, window coverings, magazine clippings, hardware, floor plans, elevations, and are so overwhelmed you don’t know where to start and what to expect.
We have put together a checklist to give you an idea of how your kitchen renovation will take place from start to finish.
Our Kitchen Design Process
The expertise of a kitchen designer in planning your renovation will be evident very quickly as you start the kitchen design process. We will work with you to obtain the space you have envisioned, and here’s how we do it.
An appointment is made for us to do an on a site visit to take measurements of your existing kitchen/bathroom area and take some before photographs. During this free consultation, we will go through our list regarding removing walls and bulkheads, appliance requirements, space planning, and every “must-have” available. Your input is invaluable, and we will take all of your ideas and incorporate them into the design. Our designers have many years of experience and can help you to avoid costly mistakes and also make sure that you achieve your vision for the new kitchen or bathroom.
At the second appointment, which will be at our showroom, we will show you the proposed floor plan and elevations of each wall. At this time, we will also present a detailed quote letter so that you know our price to supply and install cabinetry and countertops.
We can also assist you in hiring a contractor and get quotes on flooring, appliances, tile, and fixtures. Once you have made all of your final decisions, we will be there every step of the way to ensure a smooth and seamless renovation!
Having elevations and floor plans is essential so that you can visualize the space before work begins. Here is an example below of what you can expect when working with us. These layouts show the initial design through to the completed project.
